Dancing With the Stars Week 1 of Season 13

by 17 Divas on September 21, 2011

After Monday’s Premier of Dancing with The Stars, it’s game over for Metta World Peace, aka Ron Artest. It’s out of the ballroom and back to the ball court for the first eliminated contestant of Season 13.

This is how the judges saw the first round of dancing on the new season as partners danced the cha cha or the viennese waltz.

Ron Artest and Peta Murgatroyd received a total of 14 points with Carrie Ann saying, “It was wrong for all the technical reasons.”

Rob Kardashian had his sisters, Kim and Khloe and favorite brother-in-law Lamar Odom cheering him on as he and partner Cheryl Burke received a total of 16 points from the judges. Bruno said, “You danced that like you were under strict orders to succeed.” But Carrie Ann added, “When I watch you I see potential.” (and so do I – Go Rob!)

Kristin Cavallari won over Bruno, “The hotness you’ve got it.” But he added, “When you do your turns you are unsteady.” Kristin and partner Mark Ballas got a 14 from the judges.

Chynna Philips kicked Tony in the groin – watch out for those family jewels, Tony, Chynna has the rise and fall of the waltz down but the rise of her leg is dangerous. Len gave them major props declaring, “It wasn’t the best first dance I’ve ever seen but it was close.” Carrie Ann added, “That was gorgeous.” Chynna and Tony’s score totalled 22 points.

Tristan and Nancy Grace got a score of 16. Carrie Ann told her, “You’ve got spunk, you’ve got sass, you have to remember choreography.”

David Arquette was suprisingly good and likeable. He has a shot at the mirror ball me thinks. Len said, “I was very impressed.” David and Kym Johnson’s score was 18.

Poor Chmerkovskiy brothers have probably the worst two dancers of the competition – although the judges didn’t seem to see what I saw.

Elisabetta and Val’s routine began in bed with Val shirtless. But as Bruno said, “You were very good in bed.” but then “It all fell apart.” They were given a score of 15.

Maks’ partner, Hope Solo, did mildly better than his brothers but the judges didn’t say one bad thing about her dancing. To my shock, Maks and Hope got a very high score of 21.

Carson Kressley and Anna were a fave of the night! In addition to having moves well beyond Jagger, Len said he also had swagger and stagger. Carrie Ann said, “that was my favorite dance of the night by far! You are something else!” and Bruno said, “Full out outrageous fun.” And then Carson and Anna went on to get a score of a lame 17. It was at this point that I was officially mad.

JR Martinez and Karina were next, and easily another top favorite dance couple, getting a score of 22.

Rikki Lake and Derek Hough did a very nice and well-recieved waltz and were rewarded with a judges score of 20. Len said, “Overall I enjoyed it very much.”

Chaz Bono was saved for last and easily the most anticipated dancer for folks to see, and Chaz had pizzaz! Carrie Ann said, “I’ve waited all night to see you Chaz and you do not disappoint.” Bruno said he was, “So cuddly and cute and joyous.” Agreed, Chaz is a definite fave. Chaz and Lacey Schwimmer got underrated marks of 17 from the judges.

Yay, DWTS is back and in full swing. Nothing could make me and my dvr happier.
