This week the top 11 American Idol contestants were mentored by none other than Hannah Montana herself, Miley Cyrus. Miley didn’t say a bad word about anyone, put Didi at ease when she assured her everyone gets nervous before they perform, and practically blushed upon learning that Aaron Kelly has a crush on her. (If things don’t work out with Liam ya never know.) As a side note and totally off topic, I know she’s young, but can Miley please work on her posture! The girl cannot stand up straight, she has the slouched shoulders of an 85 year old. For someone who is accomplished as she is she should put her shoulders back, head high and stand with confidence.
The Idol judges were largely unimpressed by the singing Tuesday nite, but for Crystal Bowersox and Siobhan Magnus, who continue to separate themselves from the pack.
Ellen DeGeneres commented to Crystal that maybe she think about loosing the guitar some time it might break her free a bit. Crystal assured Ellen that she had big plans for next week’s performance should she still be here…AS IF that’s an option. Judges commended Crystal for just coming out doing her thing with no gimmicks, just singing. Crystal may not have gimmicks, but she showed us she has a magic carpet, ok so it’s not really a magic carpet, but it helps her turn the cold stage into a cosy, home-y place.

Siobhan’s friends in the audience showed their sio-pport by sporting zombie costumes and makeup referring to themselves as Siobombies. Siobhan’s Zombies. okay. whatev. kinda koo-koo. but they are dedicated in their koo-kooness so it’s all good. Siobhan again punctuated her song performance with her signature “belt” at the end, to which Simon told her it’s getting a bit gimmicky. This Diva agrees. Simon is always right. Plus let’s discuss Siobhan’s hair….I hate what they have done to her hair last week and this week. The 80′s throwback Joan Jett combo Jane Fonda jazzercise video hair-do they are giving Siobhan is neither flattering nor “relevant”…discuss.

Worst appearance of the week went to Paige Miles who got such negative comments from the judges beginning with Randy Jackson telling her “that was horrible”. No surprise the results show found her in the bottom two (along with Tim Urban) and then ultimately the bottom one. Not even allowed to “sing for her life” Simon declared there is no chance of us using the “save” for you you’re going home regardless. OUCH! that hurt!
But E! News revealed that after cameras stopped rolling and Ryan handed the mic to Paige to sing for the last time, she apparently gave a performance that knocked it outta the park and almost had the judges re-thinking their decision. This is why, contestants, you gotta sing it like ya mean it when it Counts!!!
