The Davids had it tonite on the American Idol finals. In an effort to make this nite more entertaining (ie. watchable) they played out a whole boxing fight theme of David vs David. Corny as hell. But whatever.
Simon Cowell was on Ellen Degeneres earlier today saying how he felt David Cook should win. Ellen agreed. As do I. Yet tonite, Simon tossed David Cook under a bus not once, not twice, but THREE times! Each round of songs Simon called it an Archuleta win and the last round he called a knockout.
Archuleta was good, admittingly, but nothing unique or different. Archuleta picked the right songs – ballad, heartfelt, emotional IDOL-esque songs. Cook went rock-n-roll. The last songs they sang were Archuleta – Imagine and Cook- The World I Know. Divas in the house thought Cook smoked that Collective Soul to it’s inner soul!! David Cook could barely hit the last note because he was overcome with emotion and tears. Simon bashed his song choice saying he should have sung Billie Jean or Hello.
